Family Life Center Program
The Family Life Center is a system of services that serves to build an effective partnership with families who are diagnosis with co-occurring disorder, or have a history of exposure to trauma and violence. The impact of trauma in the lives of family members and the relationship between mental illness, substance abuse, and violence is complex and multifaceted . The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Third Edition-Revised, (DSMIV) describes several mental disorders detailing symptoms and causes that can be used to formulate treatment services that are comprehensively gender-specific and culturally competent by integrating various forms of services that are identified and treated as individual domains :
